Bufo, Jennifer’s new pet toad turns out to be a tongue toad, which can talk! The witch is Bufo’s mother, and she’s trying to get the Jewel of Perfect Happiness out of Bufo’s forehead. When the witch gets Brandon, Jennifer’s little brother, when he is a toad, and wants to trade Brandon for Bufo, they have to give Bufo to her! When Jennifer and her friend Sharra walk down Beach Street in Smokey Hollow with Bufo, the witch lets them into her beauty parlor. Then when Jennifer kisses Bufo a ton of times, she turns into a giant toad, and she captures the witch in her mouth! The witch knows that all that Jennifer wants is to be beautiful, so she offers to turn Jennifer into a beautiful person, if she lets her have Bufo. Jennifer can only stay a toad for ten hours, or she will stay a toad forever. Will Jennifer take the witch’s trade and become beautiful? What will Jennifer do so she isn’t a toad forever?
